Roses are one of the most recognizable and culturally significant flowers in the world. Their lavish and intoxicating scent is just as beautiful as the bloom itself, and so it is no wonder Pixi by Petra infused fresh rose water and rose oils into its newest collection of skintreats! The Rose Essence Collection unlocks the beautifying benefits of Rose Hip & Rose Flower Oils, Rose Extract, and Rose Water, with moisture and hydration being key in its performance.
For those of you who are not familiar with Pixi Beauty, it was founded in London by Petra Strand, a Swedish-born makeup artist with more than 20+ years of experience. This amazing line focuses on natural, botanical-based beauty products that are cruelty-free, come in smart packaging, and are affordably priced.
Are you ready to find out how these Pixi products performed? Let's get started...
First up is Pixi's Rose Flash Balm Instant Skin Booster ($24). This 5-star performer had me at hello! The natural scent smells fantastic and the formula goes on unbelievably smooth, leaving my skin feeling super soft. I'm telling you, it is that good and probably THE BEST BALM I've ever used! The multipurpose, 3-in-1 radiance-boosting formula is the ultimate pick-me-up for tired, dull skin. And that's not all...I have ultra-sensitive skin and the Rose Flash Balm calms and diminishes redness. It's great for all skin types too! Use the balm any time of the day or night as a moisturizer, primer or hydrating mask and you can thank me later. It has exceeded my expectations and is my new must-have for soft, glowing skin!
Pixi Rose Cream Cleanser ($18). This nourishing cream cleanser is formulated to work for all types of skin - even sensitive skin. It contains soothing ingredients like chamomile and aloe along with avocado and rose to soften and condition skin. I use this cleanser in the morning and it leaves my skin soft without stripping oils from my skin. The formula is lotion-like in consistency and doesn't lather up like some cleansers. I use a heavy-duty cleansing scrub in the evenings to remove dirt, oil, and makeup, and use the Rose Cream Cleanser in the morning to freshen and brighten my skin. I find the scent a refreshing start to my day.
Pixi Rose Tonic ($15). Love this tonic! It's gentle, calming and has a light rose scent that feels clean and fresh. Like Pixi's number one Glow Tonic, the Rose Tonic gives skin a wonderful glow from within.
Pixi Rose Glow Mist ($15). This Rose Glow Mist is a multi-tasking product that can be used to hydrate, prime, calm, and refresh skin with a spray from its fine mist pump. Applied as a primer, it leaves my skin looking dewy fresh, but never oily. It is great for parched skin in the winter and I can't wait to use it in the summer for a quick and refreshing way to beat the heat.
Pixi's SkinTreats Caviar Essence Encapsulated Moisture Serum ($24). This lightweight serum-essence melts onto the skin and delivers fresh flower botanicals to nourish and hydrate your skin. It is slightly cool upon application and left a brief tingling sensation when I first applied it to my skin. It is designed to restore brightness and radiance while softening and toning skin. I wanted to love this product, but in my opinion, there are other Pixi serums that reveal glowing and radiant skin. Suited for all skin types.
Rose Ceramide Cream. ($24) What is there not to love? Well, maybe the price is a little steep, but this intensive moisturizer is an ultra-hydrating, rich and nourishing formula that quickly absorbs into the skin. Its powerful antioxidants fortify and protect skin from environmental aggressors and leaving my skin feeling so soft, hydrated, and smooth. After using this product for one month, I also feel there has been an improvement in the overall elasticity of my skin.
Pixi Skintreats Rose Oil Blend. ($24) Another one of my favorites! I use it along with a moisturizer to achieve a boost of hydration and super-natural glow to my skin. The rose scent is soft and beautiful, not overpowering in the least. I apply this nourishing face oil in the morning and night. I apply it for a quick pick-me-up when I go out for the evening. A bit pricey, but a little goes a long way. I also like the dropper helps to prevent contamination and spillage. Place 2-3 drops onto your finger while avoiding contact with the dropper, and smooth over your skin.
Pixi Makeup Mist. ($15) This all-over setting spray is applied to extend the life of your makeup. If you have a long day ahead of you or need a quick pick-me-up to freshen your face, Makeup Fixing Mist is there to save the day. Hydrating rosewater & green tea quenching your skin is a welcome treat that not only hydrates but protects the skin as well. Pump it up a few times to make sure it dispenses a fine mist or you could end up ejecting a quick stream onto your face.
Pixi Makeup-Melting Cleansing Cloths. ($9.80) If you are a fan of cleansing cloths, these makeup-melting cleansing cloths are a quick and easy way to dissolve makeup and clean your skin on-the-go. They have a light, refreshing rose scent and while the cloths are not as soft as I had hoped, my skin feels clean and fresh.
In summary, the Pixi Rose Essence Collection promises glowing skin and I can tell you this collection did not disappoint. As noted on the rose-colored packaging, the rose essence collection "lets your beauty from within bloom." I couldn't have said it better myself.
Pixi by Petra is available at their L.A. Boutique, Target stores, Target.com, and PixiBeauty.com.
I am excited to try a few of these products. My skin is parched even though I use a ton of moisturizer and drink plenty of water. The Rose scent is a plus...It reminds me of spring which can't arrive soon enough.
