We all have those days when we would like to keep our makeup routine to a minimum, but still look fresh and pulled together. Well, today, I have a collection of multitasking products that were created to do just that. Pixi by Petra's fuss-free set of makeup essentials nourish and add a touch of color to cheeks and lips, all while keeping your look lightweight and natural.
The collection consists of a Nourishing Lip Polish, MultiBalm, Quick Fix Powder and Makeup Fixing Mist.
The Quick Fix Powder is a lightweight formula. It can be used to buff and blend makeup or as a setting powder. On bare skin it can be used to acheive an air-brushed effect. I applied a small amount of the translucent shade to conceal my undereye circles and brighten the problem area under my eyes. I found it to have a light white appearance on my skin rather than traslucent. It could be a winner for those with very oil skin who are looking to brighten and whiten their skin.
Pixi's Nourishing Lip Polish is in a skinny tube of apricot & grapefruit oils with a unique exfoliating applicator that stimulates and massages lips, while gently scrubbing away dry skin. I love how it hydrates, leaving my lips smoother and making them appearance fuller and plump.
Then we have Pixi's wonderful multitasking duo. MultiBalm Cheek & Lip Colour is a 2-in-1 creamy powder formula that adds just a touch of velvety color to your face while infusing lips with aloe vera, shea butter, and rose hip oil to protect. I'm wearing a flattering rose tint shade called 'Baby Petal' (see below). I have to really prep my dry lips with a good exfoliator and moisturizer in order to achieve a smooth, flawless look. This balm likes to settle into the cracks of my lips for some reason. It could be an age-related issue (not that being over 50 is old 😏), but a younger person may not have any issues at all. Either way, it works beautifully as a blush!
Lastly, there's Pixi's Makeup Fixing Mist. This all-over setting spray is applied to extend the life of your makeup. If you have a long day ahead of you or need a quick pick-me-up to freshen your face, Makeup Fixing Mist is there to save the day. Hydrating rosewater & green tea quenching your skin is a welcome treat that not only hydrates, but protects the skin as well. Pump it up a few times to make sure it dispenses a fine mist or you could end up ejecting a quick stream onto your face.
And there you have it, Pixi's multitasking makeup essentials. The Pixi Beauty line of cruelty-free cosmetics and skin care products ranges from $8 to $34, and can be found at their LA boutique, Pixi Beauty, and Target (online and in stores).
