The Dyson Beauty Essential That Will Blow You Away

A quality hair dryer is one beauty tool that no woman should be without. It makes styling your hair so much easier and best of all, you can achieve a salon look without every leaving your house. It's true! if you have a top-rate hair dryer, blow drying your hair makes it shiny, voluminous and manageable!  

Intelligent heat control. Heat damage from hair dryers happens far too often, so you can imagine my excitement when I was given an opportunity to review the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer! Squee! I have had my eye on this baby every since I saw it won Allure's Best of Beauty Award. 

Dyson spent five years researching hair in order to develop the Supersonic hair dryer, and their innovative design of the hair dryer is quite extraordinary. It becomes apparent that this hair dryer is like no other, from the moment you you see right through it! That's right. There is a hole that runs through the top of the unit with a super powerful digital motor. How powerful? You have to see it to believe it. The air power will blow you away! (pun intended)

I was pleasantly surprised that Dyson's Supersonic hair dryer is lightweight and quieter than the average hair dryer. But don't let that fool you, as I mentioned above, it is extremely powerful! All in all, it roughly cuts my drying time in half! And the attachments are wonderful - they're magnetic! I use the styling concentrator to lift my hair at the roots to add body and fullness. Then, I follow up with a cool blast to set my hair. Time permitting, I follow with the smoothing nozzle and run my round brush through the ends of my hair to make soft curls at the bottom, and again, press the cool button to set my hair. Usually, I have frizzies that need to be tamed with a curling iron, but as you can see below, my hair is smooth and I'm ready to go!

Styling my hair with the Supersonic Hair Dryer is amazing! I'm in complete control of the airflow, precision, and temperature.

Some terrific features of the hair dryer are:

* Thermal sensor measures exit flow temperature 20 times per second and 

   transmits data to the machine's microprocessor 

* Cool shot button to lock in style

* Magic magnetic styling attachments consisting of a smoothing nozzle,

* Engineered for balance - the majority of the weight lies in the handle and 

   makes the dryer super-easy to hold

The list of features go on and on and kudos to Dyson for thinking of everything in order to perfect today's hair dryer. Even the cord is designed to prevent twisting and tangling and is heavier than your average hair dryer cord. My guess is the digital motor V9's 13 impeller blades that spin at up to 100,000rpm, are behind the heavy duty, 9' cord. 

After using my Supersonic Hair Dryer for more than a week, my hair feels soft and smooth. It's shinier and also static-free! How did this all happen? Well, after reading up and doing some research, I learned that the negative ions that are released seal hair cuticles to prevent frizz, reduce static and promote healthy hair. Combine that with Supersonic's incredible technology and you've hit the jackpot.

What do all the fancy features mean to you and me? It means the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer is fast drying and helps prevent extreme heat damage in order to protect natural shine. In short, FABULOUS LOOKING HAIR! 

While I recommend the Supersonic hair dryer to anyone who takes haircare seriously, cost is an issue. Do you splurge or not? That is the question. At $399, the Supersonic is probably the most expensive hair dryer on the market, and arguably THE BEST hair dryer on the market. I often justify my splurges by asking myself how often I will use the item and will it save me time or money in the long run. In my case, the Supersonic is a beauty tool that I will use almost every single day and it will save time if it dries my hair faster! However, going back to the cost, you need to ask yourself if you can realistically afford it and want to splurge? Making a list of the pros (the amazing technology mentioned above) and cons (the high price), can also help with making this important decision.
