Style, Decor & More: Eerie 19th Century Mystery Remains Unsolved! {+ Giveaway!}

Eerie 19th Century Mystery Remains Unsolved! {+ Giveaway!}

There's something about a bone chilling mystery that never ceases to captivate and entertain. Perhaps it's the challenge of trying to predict what will happen next or the thrill of a good mystery that leaves you in suspense and on the edge of your seat. No matter the reason, it's hard to resist the temptation to let your imagination run wild.

Recently I read a story about a treasure discovered in the nineteenth century in central London during a period in which darkness enveloped the city and theft was rampant. A group of laborers were demolishing an old, decrepit apartment when they came upon jewels only a few feet beneath ground. The laborers fiercely sifted through layers of mud and clay and brought the muddied treasure to a local jeweler.  The jeweler immediately recognized that the gems were of exceptional quality and offered the laborers a princely sum for the 500 jewel pieces. Realizing the significant risk associated with possessing such a treasure, the jeweler secretly negotiated to give the jewels to the London Museum, where they are still on display today.

Who was the original owner of the jewels and why were they buried beneath an apartment building? This nineteenth century mystery remains unsolved to this day. Perhaps one day historians may solve this mystery.

When the weather turns colder, I love curling up next to the fire and watching winter TV shows with an intriguing mystery. I can't wait for the premier of Taboo, the new FX Network series on January 10, 2017. Set in 1814, Taboo follows James Keziah Delaney, a man who has been to the ends of the earth and comes back irrevocably changed. Believed to be long dead, he returns home to London from Africa to inherit what is left of his father's shipping empire and rebuild a life for himself. But his father's legacy is a poisoned chalice, and with enemies lurking in every dark corner, James must navigate increasingly complex territories to avoid his own death sentence. Encircled by conspiracy, murder and betrayal, a dark family mystery unfolds in a combustible tale of love and treachery.

To kick off the new Taboo FX Premierthree (3) lucky souls will have a chance to
