Recently, I had the opportunity to try out some new skin care products from The Body Shop superhero clear skin squad. The products in this set include the 3-in-1 Wash Scrub Mask, the Anti-Imperfection Daily Solution, and their classic Tea Tree Oil. The well-respected and reputable name of the brand first sparked my interest, and when I saw that they were introducing a new line of cruelty-free skincare products targeting blemished skin, I knew I HAD to try it out!
With school starting mid-August, the first two months of the semester are hot and humid in Ohio, making my skin prone to oily patches, clogged pores, and breakouts. As if the humidity wasn’t enough to worry about, things like alcohol toxins, stress, poor diet, and hormones can contribute to blemished skin as well. Besides the obvious (and slightly impossible) solution of avoiding things like sweets and stress, these new skin care products can come to the rescue and save the day. The line is formulated with 100% organic tea tree oil and has a variety of products so that you can have the best of both worlds: on the spot action AND long-term defense.
3-in-1 Wash. Scrub. Mask.
The first product I tried in the new tea tree collection is the 3-in-1 Wash.Scrub.Mask. As a wash and scrub, I wet my face and work it into a foamy lather using gentle, circular motions over my entire face. After rinsing well with water, I can definitely see and feel it removes impurities and excess oil. My pores appear smaller, too!
Since I am a huge fan of masks, it's no wonder I love using Wash.Scrub.Mask. as just that, a mask. I leave the mask sit on my skin for five minutes, rinse it off, and my skin feels clean and energized. It is recommended to only use the mask 1-2 times per week, but I have to admit that I've used it three times in one week because I love how it makes my skin look and feel!
Ooooh...This solution is very nice! At first I wasn't sure what made the daily solution different from the tea tree oil itself, but after I tried it, there is a difference! This solution is lightweight and serum-like as it glides across my skin and quickly absorbs in seconds. The Body Shop calls it a pre-serum, but I would call it "fantastic!" While the key ingredient is tea tree oil, the scent is not as strong and it is not as oily as tea tree oil. This makes it especially nice to apply to your T-zone or all over your face (avoid the eye area, of course), as needed.
Tea Tree Oil.
The Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil is a great spot-on treatment that I use as soon as I feel a pimple starting. I take a cotton swab saturated with oil or use my fingertip (I wash my hands first) and within a few minutes it calms the pimple and reduces redness. The Tea Tree Oil also works great as a preventative treatment for my acne-prone skin, and clears up my past troubled areas, too.
Overall, The Body Shop's Tea Tree products have really helped with my acne breakouts and I hope this review helps you find what works for you!
You can find all of the products mentioned above at The Body Shop both in-store and online. Not only do these amazing products feel good, but they do good as well! For every product purchased, The Body Shop will build bio-bridges and will restore 1 square meter of rainforest, with the ultimate goal of up to 75 million square meters!
xoxo, Kristina
