Are your skincare products working as well as they could be? Before you run out and buy an assortment of expensive skincare products, make sure those products can penetrate your skin. Removing old skin cells is the first step toward breaking the dead skin barrier and allowing better absorption of moisturizers, serums and other skincare products!
A few weeks ago PMD (Personal Microderm) sent me their unique microdermabrasion skincare tool that uses a combination of patented discs and vacuum suction, to give you spa-like microdermabrasion treatments in the privacy of your own home!
I noticed the difference in my skin the very first time I tried PMD Personal Microderm. My skin looked and felt softer and smoother after just one treatment! Really! I know many companies like to make product claims like that, but I can vouch for PMD Personal Microderm's claim!
Before I used PMD Personal Microderm on my entire face, I used the white disc to practice in one small area of my face. The white disc is for ultra sensitive skin and I felt if I was going to have a reaction, it would be minimal. After getting the hang of it, I tested the blue disc on my skin below my ear to make sure there would be no reaction. There was no skin reaction and I used the blue sensitive skin disc on my entire face. Note: If you have ultra sensitive skin, try using the white disc below the ear before practicing on your face. If that does not irritate your skin, then use the white disc on your face. Just remember, take it slow.
When you are using PMD Personal Microderm, gently pull the skin taught in the treatment area and move the PMD Personal Microderm across the skin in an upward motion. Be careful to not go over the same area more than twice! This could irritate the skin! (See my video below.)
Easy to Clean.
1. Clean the cap and disc with rubbing alcohol or antibacterial soap.
2. Clean the filter with warm water using your fingers and thumb.
3. Don't forget to place the filter back in the device. After using PMD Personal Microderm, I apply toner to neutralize the ph balance in my skin and follow with a moisturizer. It is very important to moisturize the skin as exfoliating can make your skin dry. It is also suggested you use PMD Personal Microderm no more than once per week to avoid any irritation and to achieve healthy, radiant looking skin!
As with all dermabrasion products, do not use Alpha and Beta Hydroxy acid or retin A or retinol products 48 hours before or after using PMD. As mentioned above, do not hover in one spot with your PMD. Keep away from your immediate eye area and stop if you feel any pain. Tingling is normal, but not pain.
I have used my PMD Personal Microderm twice since writing this review and I couldn't be happier! Its like having a private, professional microdermabrasion whenever and wherever I want!

I would really like to try this, but don't think I can afford it right now. Maybe once I pay some bills after Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI have never used a Personal Microdem. Sounds like it would be great for taking care of your skin. Good to know it doesn't hurt that would be a concern of mine with how sensitive my skin is.
ReplyDeleteI have SO much love for my PMD personal microderm! My beauty skincare routine has been cut in half since I started using. My face is more even, smoother and looks fresher! I cannot tell you enough good things about this product. I love mine!
ReplyDeleteI have been very curious about this product. I know that regular exfoliation is great for your skin, but sometimes I don't like the mess when I have to exfoliate. So I am curious what PMD personal microderm will be like. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI have been curious about the PMD for a while now. I have noticed areas of my skin that would benefit from it. It is a bit pricey, but I guess you cannot put a price tag on good skin.
ReplyDeleteI needed this in my stocking stuffer for the holidays. I bought a little cheap one from walmart earlier this year and although it was cheap it worked pretty decent so I know this will wonders.
ReplyDeleteI've always thought about trying one of those but I've got this strange fear of scraping my face off lol. I'm glad to know it's not as scary as it sounds.
ReplyDeleteI have a brush exfoliating device that works great on my skin. I'm curious is the PMD device would work better.
ReplyDeletewow I would love to try PMD.
ReplyDeleteI have that unit and love it; it takes loads of dead skin off and really does leave the skin smooth and over time, re-texturized.
ReplyDeleteI went to for professional microdermabrasion treatments several years ago. They produced amazing results but I couldn't afford them after a few visits. I would love to do it at home with this neat little gadget.
ReplyDeleteOh this sounds and looks so neat! I love that you noticed a difference after the first time you used it! I would love to incorporate this into my skin care routine!
ReplyDeleteI would love to try this and see how it works on my skin.
ReplyDeleteAfter this winter I need something like this. Need exfoliation and something to make my skin soft. Thanks for sharing. I will be looking into this
ReplyDeleteI would like to reduce my age spots.
ReplyDeleteI bought this a few years ago and absolutely love it. My skin looks great now, before it was really dull and I had some age spots. My skin is a lot clearer and bright now. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI won one of these. I get bored with things quickly so didn't use it more than a week. I did see when cleaning the filter, there were skin cells, so it does work. As I've said, I didn't use it long enough to see results.
ReplyDeleteI actually have a machine something like this but is well over 30 years old now?
ReplyDeleteI would love to try this, maybe a birthday present to me
ReplyDeleteGreat review! I definately want to check this one out. Youre right many claim their product works ,Im glad to hear this one actually did after the first use.
ReplyDeleteI heard this is really great product for your face, but what does it exaclty do? I never really see any results my mom has been using one for about a 1 week now maybe it takes time.
