Go Red For Women is the American Heart Association (AHA)’s national movement to end heart disease in women. It was created 10 years ago – by women, for women – to fund ground-breaking research, pioneer life-saving education and support courageous advocacy. The Go Red movement, now 1.5 million strong, has also given women a platform to fight heart disease both individually and together. And we’ve made progress. Women are making healthier choices by quitting smoking, exercising more and managing their cholesterol. More than 627,000 lives have been saved, and 330 fewer women are dying each day. But the fight is far from over. By funding the right research and education, heart disease in women can be treated, prevented, and even ended.
A special thanks to my friend, Michelle Seifert, who organized this wonderful event. From the lovely auction prizes to the complimentary granola bars, she is always the perfect hostess.
It is nice to see that so many people turned out for a good cause and to get fit at the same time. Wish I lived closer.
ReplyDeleteNancy - THANK YOU for helping and volunteering yesterday morning. You had organized the basket tables perfectly! See you soon. Michelle

DeleteThat was a pretty good turn out. It's important to stay healthy. Especially if you can have fun at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Lisa! It was a fun way to spend a Sunday morning!
DeleteIt looks like you had a good time for a good cause. We have a similar event in Tahoma and I always look forward to it.
