Disclaimer: I was a guest of Omni's MonteLucia during this stay. All opinions are 100% from my own experience.
Well, here we are, in the middle of winter and I can't wait to share an AMAZING Spring break destination with you! Airline flights are at their lowest in years and we could all use an escape from winter weather!
Hubby and I sipped on refreshing drinks after dinner while relaxing under the stars in MonteLucia's Corteja Plaza.
On our business/pleasure trip to one of our favorite destinations, we stayed at Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at MonteLucia in Paradise Valley. We've been to Scottsdale at least a dozen times always returning for the fantastic weather, spectacular restaurants, and all-around western/desert ambiance. This was our first stay at MonteLucia. Nestled at the foot of Camelback Mountain, MonteLucia boasts a Mediterranean charm with its rich-hued colors, three sparkling pools, splashing fountains and winding walkways with unique desert landscape and flora. Relax at the award winning Joya spa or enjoy one of the 30 luxurious poolside cabanas. We had breathtaking views of Cambelback Mountain from our room, poolside, and even during our visit to the fitness center. My son lifted his weights and I enjoyed riding a stationary bike while taking in the beautiful scenery by day and gazing at the stars by night. The fitness center is open 24 hours.
The resort features richly appointed rooms with old world touches complemented by modern technology. The decor is inspired by the Andalusia region of Spain. Each room has a bathroom with a sunken tub and walk-in shower for your relaxation. Don't forget to tempt your taste buds with the culinary delights at one of their world-class restaurants too. We have so many local restaurant favorites and were unable to visit all of the restaurants at MonteLucia.
Our room featured a 42" flat screen TV and a fabulous view of Cambelback Mountain! The view from the room was spectacular. Unfortunately, due to the bright lighting, I couldn't capture the view from inside the room looking out. The view is similar to the Camelback Mountain photo above, but without the pool. Truly stunning!
The hotel is a short drive to Main Street where you can experience the ArtWalk. It's Scottsdale's must-see (or should I say "must-do") attraction every Thursday night! We like to begin the evening with a bite at one of our favorite restaurants, Malee's Thai Restaurant on Main Street. If you plan to eat there on a Thursday night, make dinner reservations a few days in advance as it does get crowded. We plan the evening so that we are finished with our meal around 7:00 pm. That's when the ArtWalk begins and Main Street comes alive with people and ambient instrumentals. The art galleries stay open until 9:00pm for your enjoyment. There is complimentary wine and cheese in some of the galleries, and a vast array of spectacular art which includes sculptures and paintings from talented artisans. Remember to bring a wrap to dinner. It gets chilly when the sun goes down - even in the desert!
MonteLucia's Spanish-inspired grounds are adorned with beautiful flora and fountains.
MonteLucia at dusk.
I would recommend MonteLucia as both a luxury vacation getaway and an exceptional meeting destination. The staff were kind, gracious and very accommodating during our stay. It's the special touches made our trip a memorable one. Thank you!
MonteLucia is only 15 minutes from the Phoenix airport and minutes from local attractions, restaurants and the nightlife for which Scottsdale is known for, along with it's amazing views of Camelback Mountain.
