Welcome the warm colors of fall into your home this season! We've put together some beautiful and inspiring ideas that will instantly beautify and add warm to your space. Best of all, these easy, no-hassle inspirations are all budget friendly too! Enjoy!
Create a seasonal feel in your home using leaves, pumpkins, flowers and wreaths. Throughout my home, I have introduced autumn-colored pillows, tassles, and placemats into my decor. You may be surprised at how many of these decor items you may already have around your house. Think colorful candles, platters, decorative bowls, vases, etc.
Below are just some of the easy ways I've injected the warmth of fall colors into my home:
I've mixed and matched autumn-colored placemats to add a burst of color to my tabletop and used gold chargers from my Christmas decor to infuse a shimmery shine. Pretty napkin rings add a touch of colorful sparkle too. Note: I pick up festive tableware on clearance after the holidays at World Market, Pier 1, Z Gallerie and TJMaxx (HomeGoods). These are some of my favorite places to shop for home decor deals!
I've added seasonal decor to the mantels in my home. Nothing fancy, just clearance finds from years' past. After taking this photo, I did pick up burgundy candles and replaced the dull white candles. Yes, I could really use some foliage in the center urn. Maybe next year! {smile}
Another mantel example below. This mantel is in my family. I've used a simple leaf garland that I picked up at Jo-Ann Fabrics for about $4. Isn't it festive and pretty? I love the bright colors and I've since placed golden tea light votives from my Christmas decor scattered across the mantel between the leaves. The golden sparkle gave my mantel a much needed boost of glam!
Embellish cabinets and doors with pretty tassels! One tassel may be all you need to make an elegant statement in a smaller room.
Design Tip: Hang a tassel on the inside of your front door. It will be the last thing people see as they leave your home! I have a tassel on every door in my home!

You don't need a white sofa to incorporate fall colored pillows into your decor. Try using gold, rust or burgundy pillows and mix and match patterns. If you have a floral or busy-patterned sofa, use solid and striped pillows.
Switch out a few crystals from lighting around your home. If you have dangling crystals on any light fixtures in your home, various ebay sellers have inexpensive colored crystals that will infuse color into your room. I have a white and black kitchen that allows me the flexibility of changing the accent color in my decor for all the seasons and holidays. I enjoy the splash of color in an unexpected place and it looks pretty too!
Wreaths can be very expensive and I had a hard time finding large wreaths at a reasonable price. I decided to try and make them myself and I'm pleased with the result. The 24" wreaths, shown below, were created for about $15 each! (Of course, I used printable coupons from my weekly coupon posts.) Had I planned ahead, I would have picked up the flowers at the end of the season last year and saved even more!
Believe me, this project was sooo easy! I simply took the flowers off of the stems and hot-glued them onto the wreaths. I plan to make wreaths for every season.

Design tip: The wreaths below may appear smaller, but they are large 24" grapevine wreaths. When selecting a wreath (or any item for outdoors), remember it will always appear smaller when placed outside.
Design tip: Don't forget about the wonderful (and FREE!) DIY materials in your own backyard! Seasonal items such as acorns, berries, colored leaves, dried hydrangeas or pinecones may be right outside your door. If you don't have any of these organic items, visit a local park with family or friends and have a scavenger hunt for acorns, pinecones, and pretty leaves! Place your new found treasures in a jar or vase and enjoy!
Thanks for stopping by for a glimpse of how I welcome fall into my home! I hope you've been inspired by some of the ideas!
