On Friday, a crowd of nearly 1,000 women turned out for the annual Go Red for Women Health Expo & Luncheon Event at The Cleveland Convention Center. The women came dressed in red to show their support and raise awareness about heart disease, the No. 1 killer of women in the United States.
The cutest "lady in red" and one of the speakers at the event, Miss Avery shared her story about her special heart. WKYC TV in Cleveland shares more of Avery's story HERE. |
I worked the silent auction table where a beautiful Kate Spade handbag and wallet were up for grabs! |
Take your seats everyone! |
Lunch is served! I sat with ladies from the Go Red Committee (Lauren and Michelle). |
My sister, Marien (far left corner), Michelle, and Lauren (Go Red Committee) were having fun with firemen from surrounding communities who were there to help out. Thanks for your support guys! |
"Most women don't notice the symptoms of heart disease until it's too late. That's why heart disease has been called the silent killer. But we won't be silent."
It was a fabulous event for a good cause! Congratulations to all those who put on a great presentation containing survivors, doctors, and reminders that we women need to take care of ourselves so we can continue taking care of our loved ones. Put yourself FIRST, ladies! Take care of yourselves!
