The holidays are sneaking up on us and if you are expecting guests between Thanksgiving and New Year's, you will want to make sure they are comfortable during their stay.
Creating a beautiful and cozy retreat for your overnight guests will make them feel extra special. Below are a few tips that will have your visitors feeling right at home. The only downfall...they may never want to leave. {smile}
2. Pillows. Some people prefer to sleep with two or more pillows and pillows also make a comfortable backrest to read in bed. At a minimum, prepare two lofty pillows per guest.
3. Seating. If you don't have a closet available, guests will appreciate a chair to put their clothes out. It will also serve as an elevated space to put place luggage.
4. Refreshments. Fresh water on the nightstand is always appreciated. Offer to fill the container before they turn in for the night, or provide bottled water.
5. Foliage. Plants are flowers are an easy way to beautify a room and make your guests feel welcome. Besides their aesthetic value, some plants also filter the air of toxins. Try Garden Mum, Boston Fern, Areca palm, and Aloe Vera.
6. Reading material. A current best seller, magazines, crossword puzzles, and a pen will make your guests feel at home!
7. Writing space. A writing desk or table can be added to guest rooms that do not have an issue with space. If you do not have room for a desk, add a chair near a bedside table. A desk or table also gives your guest a place for keys, handbags, and any items that would clutter a nightstand.
8. Rug. Hardwood floors can look flat and feel cold. Add some warmth with a rug at the foot of the bed.
9. Amenities. Toiletries like fresh towels, kleenex, shampoo, lotions, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc., should be displayed and available in the nearest bathroom.
10. Room Diffuser. An assortment of essential oils and a room diffuser will allow your guest to choose a scent that makes him or her comfortable. Try lavender, lemon, and peppermint.
Enjoy your company!
The guest room is gorgeous and I love the tips!
ReplyDeleteHoly smokes, that room looks absolutely gorgeous! I want it for my own room, forget about the house guests!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous room! I want to come visit you and be your guest! We usually offer our guests the inflatable mattress in the living room. Looks like i need to make a few upgrades for our guests!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful room. I would definitely love to stay there.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is such a beautiful layout. I wish my own bedroom was that amazing. We don't even have a bed for company to stay in nor a room. We have the living room that we clear out and blow up an air mattress. We aren't as fancy as most.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! I'd love to walk by that room each day just to see how pretty it is!
ReplyDeleteThis room is gorgeous. I would love to do a bedroom makeover like this when we buy our new house next year. The color scheme looks so calming and relaxing look.

ReplyDeleteNot our style but some of the pieces you chose are gorgeous (love the curtains and the night table -the one with the flowers). We have an extra room in the house which was supposed to be my office but my boys stole and it is now their playroom....it was also supposed to be the guest room. Oh well, one of these days I guess :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful guest room and I love your tips. I only wish we had more space to have guests more often.
ReplyDeleteThat room is absolutely beautiful. If I were a guest in that room I wouldn't want to leave.
ReplyDeleteWe always try to add little touches to our guest room. We attend a library book sale twice a year and always look for books that our usual guests would enjoy. Sometimes we'll add bottles of water and snacks to a tray we leave on the bed.
ReplyDeleteThat is so beautiful and clean looking - I'd be so frightened that it would get soiled quickly. Our guest room has very dark bedding (navy/gray) so that stains are visibly minimal.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a dream guest room for sure!!! Maybe in our next house, cause no way am I giving up my office. ;) Beautiful choices!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful room! I love the clean of the look and it's very welcoming.
