Style, Decor & More is proud to announce that it will be joining the Go Red For Women movement. Go Red For Women is the American Heart Association's national cause campaign to increase awareness of heart disease - the leading cause of death for women.
This morning I attended a Go Red For Women breakfast to find out how Style, Decor & More can contribute to raise awareness of this important cause. It was wonderful meeting so many powerful women from the Greater Cleveland area who are helping to make a difference.
From Left to Right: Michelle Seifert, Cleveland Clinic Hospital; Amanda Rowe, American Heart Association; and Marien Kaifesh, Parker Hannifin |
Each of the ladies in attendance received a goodie bag! Love the "Go Red" wine charms! |
I won the raffle prize filled with lots of goodies! Woohoo! |
I'm still brainstorming on ways Style, Decor can help raise awareness and contribute to Go Red. Maybe a fashion show, wine tasting or tea? I'll keep you posted!
The most important thing I learned today is that you are never too young to have heart disease.
Pay attention to your body!! If you are taking medication for anxiety and not responding, maybe it is not anxiety. Always short of breath? Maybe you are not simply out of shape. Don't ignore symptoms such as chest discomfort, cold sweat, nausea,or lightheadedness.
Did you know that Heart Disease kills more women than all cancers combined?!
Let's be healthy role models for our children and family members. Eat fruits and vegetables and exercise. If you don't like to exercise, walk for 30 minutes per day! Let's fight this silent killer!

Love the go red charms cute.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great event you attended! I love that you were able to go and congrats on your win!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a good cause! Thank you for supporting it!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to have the opportunity and am looking forward to raising awareness! :)
DeleteWhat a great cause! People really don't think that women have heart problems too. It's something I have to watch out for since I have a really bad heart murmur nearing a prolapse.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your heart murmur, Tiffany. I hope you have a good doctor who is closely monitoring your condition. The meeting today has really inspired me to get the message out, raise awareness and make a difference.
DeleteGreat cause && really cute wine charms. :)
ReplyDeleteToo cute

I love these! I lost my mother to Heart Disease in 2005! Great your doing this!
ReplyDeleteI like the red wine tasting. You can also do red themed foods with that such as red velvet cake, wine cheese (yep, they really make cheese with wine swirled in it), tomatoes stuffed with tuna salad, red peppers stuffed with chicken salad, etc. Have fun and good luck!
ReplyDeleteGo Red for Women is a wonderful cause and it takes wonderful women like you, to keep it going!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great cause and what cute charms to help promote :)
ReplyDeleteI think its great that more attention is being paid to women's heart health. For years it was thought that women didn't have too many heart problems.
ReplyDeleteI love to see blogs supporting causes, it really makes me think about what more I could be doing to support!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the Go Red for women. More attention needs to be brought about for the medical issues women face.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of a wine tasting to raise awareness for Go Red for Women
ReplyDeleteThis is a great cause and I love the red charms :-).
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a good cause we should all be concerned with!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome. I'm all for raising awareness for this. I don't think it has nearly enough at this point!
ReplyDeleteVery good cause to support, I lost my Mother to heart disease back in 95.
